Florida State football coach Jimbo Fisher is on the way out, according to multiple reports out of Tallahassee, Fla.

Fisher has been rumored to be taking over at Texas A&M in the wake of Kevin Sumlin’s firing on Sunday. Fisher, who won a national championship with the Seminoles in 2013, has repeatedly refused to comment on his status at FSU, which plays Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.

This has understandably gotten under the skin of FSU officials looking for stability.

Houston Chronicle reporter Brent Zwerneman has reported for a couple of weeks that the Aggies are looking to hire Fisher.

Tradition runs deep as the Texas A&M football players and coaches celebrate their 50-43 OT Southwest Classic win over the Arkansas Razorbacks at AT&T Stadium.

Florida State is 5-6 and is in danger of missing a bowl game for the first time in Fisher’s tenure. He won at least 10 games in six of his eight seasons, including going 14-0 and winning a national championship in 2013, FSU’s first title since ’99.

The TCU Horned Frogs head coach said his team was not in the wrong during the warm-up line incident at Oklahoma.
