Texas Longhorns coach Charlie Strong has not been immune to gaffes or memory lapses in his short time as coach.
There was the time he forgot his starting quarterback’s first name during a court deposition. Last name, Swoopes; first name, Tyrone. Strong called it a senior moment.
Then there was that time he tweeted congratulations to running back Malcolm Brown for becoming the first-round pick of the New England Patriots in last year’s NFL draft. One problem: It was defensive lineman Malcom Brown who was selected by the Patriots.

So what happened this week might not come as a total shock considering recent history.
Although Southlake Carroll prospect Zach Farrar was still surprised when he received a package in the mail from the Texas Longhorns. One reason for his surprise is that he has already signed with Texas rival Oklahoma.
Although why the 6-foot-4, 210-pound wide receiver must have been really surprised is because Texas was not one of the the double-digit offers he received, according to 247Sports.
Strong might have forgotten that he actually did sign with Texas.
Maybe Farrar can hand off the package to his teammate at school.
