TCU co-offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie was in Norman, Okla., on Wednesday eating lunch with members of the Oklahoma coaching staff, Fox Sports reported, citing a source.

Oklahoma announced on Tuesday the firing of co-offensive coordinators Josh Heupel and Jay Norvell. The report said it wasn’t known if Cumbie was offered a job.

Cumbie played at Texas Tech for Mike Leach, who was the first offensive coordinator for coach Bob Stoops at Oklahoma. TCU hired Cumbie off the Texas Tech staff in December 2013.

TCU co-offensive coordinator Doug Meacham and Texas A&M offensive coordinator Jake Spavital have also been mentioned in Internet speculation to fill the OU opening.
