Big 12 adds members for wrestling and gymnastics

The Big 12 announced Wednesday that it has added affiliate members to its postseason wrestling and gymnastics competitions.

Air Force, Northern Colorado, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Wyoming will join Iowa State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and West Virginia in Big 12 wrestling championships.

Denver will take part in the Big 12 gymnastics championship with Iowa State, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

The affiliate members will compete for the conference’s postseason championship and the league’s automatic qualification to NCAA postseason competition.

The 2016 wrestling championship is scheduled for March 5-6 in Kansas City, Mo. The gymnastics championship is March 19 in Frisco.
