Charlie Strong and Kevin Sumlin say they want to resume the Texas-Texas A&M football rivalry.

The football coaches told ESPN.com that they believe it is important to resume the rivalry, which ended when the Aggies left the Big 12 for the SEC in 2012. Texas beat Texas A&M 27-25 in College Station in 2011.

Strong is entering his second year at Texas; Sumlin is starting his fourth at A&M.

Texas and Texas A&M have played 118 times since 1894.
