TCU scored six runs in the fifth inning and went on to beat Wichita State 12-5 on Sunday afternoon, completing a sweep of the three-game nonconference series.
Horned Frogs freshman Dalton Horton (4-0) allowed a run on two hits and struck out four in six innings.
Evan Skoug’s home run in the top of the fourth gave TCU (22-5) a 2-0 lead in the fourth, but a home run for the Shockers (9-19) made it 2-1.
TCU, No. 9 in the USA Today coaches poll, sent 11 batters to the plate in the fifth to build the lead to 8-1. Wichita State scored three runs in the ninth after a four-run TCU eighth made it 12-2.
Luken Baker went 3 for 5 for TCU with four RBIs, including a three-run double in the sixth. Elliott Barzilli was 2 of 3 with three RBIs.
Dane Steinhagen and Cam Warner doubled in the sixth. Ryan Merrill had a triple in the third and scored TCU’s first run.
The sweep was the second this season for the Frogs, who have won five straight.
It was the 12th time this season TCU has scored 10 or more runs. Warner stretched his hitting streak to 16 games.
TCU hosts UT Arlington at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
