TCU basketball lands first 2024 commitment from four-star Texas native

The TCU men’s basketball program has grabbed its first commitment for the 2024 recruiting class.

Around 10 a.m. Saturday morning, four-star wing Micah Robinson announced he would be committing to the Horned Frogs over LSU, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.

A 6-foot-6 small forward, Robinson took an official visit to Fort Worth on Sept. 2 when the Horned Frogs’ football team hosted Deion Sanders and Colorado. The visit and atmosphere left a strong impression on the talented wing.

Robinson is a Frisco native who starred at Greenhill School in Addison before transferring to powerhouse prep program Oak Hill Academy.

The 247Sports composite rankings have Robinson slotted as a top-100 prospect nationally and the No. 21 small forward. With a grade of .9637, Robinson would currently be the fourth-highest rated recruit in program history.

Robinson could contend for early playing time when he steps on campus as wings like Micah Peavy, Emanuel Miller, Chuck O’Bannon and Trey Tennyson all being seniors. Robinson’s strengths are his athleticism and two-way ability as he can guard one through four and has upside on offense.
