TCU clinched its first regular-season Big 12 baseball championship, scoring a run in the ninth inning to beat Oklahoma 5-4 on Thursday night.

The Horned Frogs, 41-9 overall, improved to 16-5 in the Big 12, eliminating the Sooners (13-9), who had to sweep the three-game series to win the crown.

With the score tied 4-4, Derek Odell hit a one-out single in the top of the ninth. Keaton Jones, who had homered in the seventh to tie the game, followed with a single, moving Odell to third. After Cody Jones struck out, Keaton Jones stole second and Odell came home when the catcher’s throw went into center field.

Cody Jones homered in the third for TCU’s first run. Odell doubled in a run in the fifth and TCU scored via two walks and an error in the sixth.
