National Signing Day should be a day of celebration for most college football coaches.

Especially for TCU coach Gary Patterson, whose 22-man recruiting class is the highest-rated in his 17-year tenure.

Instead, Patterson was getting a root canal, which is one of the reasons TCU canceled his signing day press conference on Wednesday afternoon, according to a school source. The Horned Frogs’ recruiting class is ranked No. 21 in the country by 247Sports.
