For a second consecutive week, quarterback Kenny Hill managed the game to coach Gary Patterson’s satisfaction.
“He did a great job of that,” Patterson said Monday on the Big 12 coaches conference call. “He’s very athletic. We used his abilities. We’re trying to use all of our components on offense. His job is just to get it to them. He’s done that. Really for two weeks in a row, he’s managed the game plan and really done what we’ve asked him to do.”
Hill completed 21 of 31 passes for 166 yards. He was intercepted once and sacked once. He converted three third downs in four chances carrying the ball.
Patterson said Hill had “one bad throw” when he attempted a pass throwing across his body.
Hill led the Big 12 in interceptions last year and has been intercepted in each game this year.
But Patterson continues to express confidence in the senior during the Horned Frogs’ 2-0 start.
“He’s been a pleasure doing everything, but he’s really been focused in, doing the things he needed to do,” Patterson said. “For us, that’s a positive.”
