Compelling evidence for Oklahoma State: Tuesday’s staff upheaval at Texas removed any play-calling duties from the plate of Joe Wickline, the Longhorns’ offensive line coach who also holds the title of offensive coordinator. That should bode well for lawyers representing Oklahoma State in a breach-of-contract suit. The suit alleges that the former Cowboys assistant owes OSU the remainder of his previous contract ($593,478) for breaking a pact that prohibited him from accepting a lateral move with no play-calling duties. A pre-trial conference is Oct. 23 in a Payne County (Okla.) court.
Cowboys rolling unranked foes: Oklahoma State has produced a 38-5 record in matchups against unranked opponents dating to 2010. That mark will be tested Saturday against Central Arkansas.
Sooners and the SEC: No. 19 Oklahoma holds a 7-0-1 mark in regular-season meetings against SEC opponents heading into Saturday’s game at No. 23 Tennessee. The Sooners won last year’s meeting 34-10 in Norman, Okla. In bowl games, OU is 5-7-1 against SEC teams.
