After losing five straight games, the UT Arlington baseball team rebounded with a strong weekend at Clay Gould Ballpark.
Sophomore Joel Kuhnel pitched eight scoreless innings, Darien McLemore stayed hot with three hits and the Mavericks completed a three-game sweep Sunday afternoon with a 7-2 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock.
“That was obviously a good weekend for us,” UTA coach Darin Thomas said. “We needed it and we talked about it Wednesday at practice for a long time about how we needed to get going and play better.”
UTA (20-26, 11-13 Sun Belt) outscored the Trojans (14-28, 10-13) by 21 runs over the three-game series. It was the Mavericks’ largest margin of victory in a series sweep since 2005.
