Joey Roach hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning and Georgia State hung on to beat UT Arlington 8-7 in the final game of the three-game Sun Belt Conference baseball series Sunday in Atlanta.
The Mavericks (14-14, 3-6 Sun Belt) won a doubleheader on Saturday.
UTA scored seven runs on only six hits, but drew 10 walks.
The Mavs jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Brady Cox and a two-run single by Christian Hollie.

But the Panthers (16-13, 4-5) whittled away at the deficit and trailed 4-2 after three innings.
Georgia State took a 6-4 lead with four runs in the sixth, highlighted by a three-run home run by Jaylen Woullard.
UTA tied it with two runs in the seventh, Cox knocking in one with a single and Darien McLemore drawing a bases-loaded walk.

But the Mavericks couldn’t hold the lead as the Panthers took an 8-7 lead in the eighth on Roach’s sacrifice fly.
