Doubles lifts TCU to win in men’s tennis

Third-ranked TCU swept all of the doubles matches on the way to an 8-4 victory over No. 27 Mississippi State on the second day of the Three Oaks Shootout in men’s tennis in Fort Myers, Fla.

The Frogs won all four of their doubles matches 6-3.

The pairs of Alex Rybakov and Reese Stalder, along with Hudson Blake and Eduardo Nava scored their second straight win in doubles action.

▪ The No. 22 TCU women fell 6-4 to No. 26 Northwestern on the second day of the Wildcat Duals in Evanston, Ill.

Seda Arantekin and Caroline Wegner scored their second straight victory by beating Alicia Barnett and Erin Larner 6-2.

▪ TCU’s women’s swimming and diving team topped West Virginia 157-143, and the men fell 154-144 in a conference showdown that came down to the final event.

The meet at TCU was decided by the last stretch of the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The women’s relay team of senior Mikayla Winkler and freshmen Bryn Lohrberg, Micaela Roemer and Ally Robertson finished in 3:31.92, securing the victory for TCU.

Overall, the Frogs placed first in 14 events on Senior Day.
