TCU rose to No. 10 in the college football polls released Sunday while Baylor fell out of the top-10 rankings.
The Horned Frogs returned to the Top 10 after beating Oklahoma State 42-9 on Saturday.
Baylor dropped to No. 12 in The Associated Press poll and to No. 13 in the Amway Coaches Poll after losing 41-27 at West Virginia.
The Bears were ranked fourth in both polls last week.
Kansas State is in first place in the Big 12 standings as the league’s only unbeaten team in conference play but is ranked 11th, one rung below TCU, in both polls.
The AP and the coaches poll have the same top four, presumably the teams that would be in the College Football Playoff if the season ended today: 1. Mississippi State, 2. Florida State, 3. Mississippi and 4. Alabama.
With Auburn at No. 5, the Southeastern Conference is the first conference to have four teams in the top five of an AP poll, the wire service reported.
