Earth Day is this Friday, and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Street is marking the holiday in ... well, a fragrant way.

According to a release, Street is “boycotting bathing to help raise funds for the nonprofit Well Aware,” an Austin-based organization founded in 2006 that builds water systems for “impoverished communities in Kenya.”

The funds and awareness will be raised through something called Well Aware’s “Shower Strike,” which begins Friday and continues through April 30. The global, annual fundraiser, according to a release, “recruits volunteers to stop showering for one week, or until they each raise at least $1,000.”

“I’m participating in Well Aware’s Shower Strike because I know our efforts are life changing for the thousands of people who will have clean water,” Street said in a statement. “For the people we are helping, a clean drink of water is a luxury. A shower is unheard of. It’s the least we can do stop bathing for a week so that others can live.”

Street made a nice catch on a crossing route with Morris Claiborne defending.

According to a release, every $10 raised during the “Shower Strike” can provide clean water for a single person for up to 30 years. Raising $1,000 increases the number of individuals receiving clean water to 100 people, and the overall goal is to raise $150,000, supplying clean water for more than 15,000 people.

Street and his Dallas Cowboys teammates open the 2016 season Sept. 11 against the New York Giants.
