About the Stars: Dallas bounced back from a 6-2 loss in Colorado on Monday with a 3-2 victory at home against the Avalanche. It was the Stars’ first victory over Colorado in four meetings and moved Dallas into fifth place in the Central Division. ... Colton Sceviour scored the game-winning goal with 2:52 left in the third period. It was his second goal in three games since being called up from the AHL. Ray Whitney scored the first two goals Tuesday for the Stars, who held the Avalanche to only 27 shots on goal after allowing 48 shots on goal on Monday, including 21 in the first period.
