TCU's hopes of an upset Saturday against No.2-ranked Kansas State died a slow, methodical death at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
In typical Wildcat fashion, quarterback Collin Klein and company outlasted and out-muscled the Horned Frogs (6-4, 3-4 in the Big 12) for a 23-10 win in front of 47,292 in attendance.
The TCU offense never got on track and was held scoreless through the first three quarters as Kansas State built a 23-0 lead behind Klein's two touchdown runs, the second a 34-yard Heisman Trophy-style score in the third quarter that pushed the Wildcats' lead to 20-0. Anthony Cantele converted on field goals of 41, 20 and 27 yards for Kansas State (10-0, 7-0), who remained unbeaten. The Wildcats appear poised to become the new No. 1-ranked team in the BCS standings Sunday with No. 1 Alabama's loss Saturday to Texas A&M.
TCU scored its only touchdown of the game in the final minute on Euless Trinity ex Brandon Carter's 19 yard reception from Trevone Boykin.
