Warriors React to Steph Curry Announcement on Tuesday

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are in the middle of the offseason, preparing for the 2026-27 NBA regular season. Curry will be entering his 18th season in the NBA, all of which have been with Golden State. When the Warriors originally drafted the Davidson Wildcats sharpshooter at No. 7 overall in the 2009 NBA Draft, no one could have predicted his influence on the game.

Not only has the Charlotte Christian School graduate produced undeniable feats, such as being selected to 12 All-Star Games, earning 11 All-NBA selections and winning four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022), but he has also redefined how shooting impacts the game.

Curry holds four of the five highest single-season totals for 3-pointers made, including the record with 402. The 6-foot-2 guard holds the record for the most 3-pointers made in a career (4,248). The two-time NBA MVP has won the scoring title (2016, 2021) and the 3-Point Contest (2015, 2021) twice. Curry has undeniable sway over the game of basketball, and now TIME magazine has reinforced that notion by honoring his influence.

On Tuesday, TIME magazine released "The 100 Most Influential People in Sports 2026," with Curry included. The magazine's editorial staff was responsible for compiling the list. Sean Gregory wrote the blurb for Curry, focusing on the Warriors' team dominance with four championships, along with the shooting guard's impressive play.

That same day, the Warriors took to social media to celebrate the honor bestowed upon their superstar. In a post on X, Golden State wrote that Curry is a visionary on and off the court and congratulated him on the recognition.

"A leader, a visionary," the Warriors began on X. "Both on and off the court. Congrats to Stephen Curry on being named to the @TIME 100 Sports list, recognizing the most influential people in sports."

Golden State's official training camp will begin Sept. 29.
