Ted Cruz; tired of insults; Roger Ailes
Ted Cruz
Your Washington bureau and other writers missed the point.
Sen. Ted Cruz was the only presidential contender who stood up not only to Donald Trump but the Republican National Committee as well, adhering to the principles of what is right and wrong.
We live in a culture where the lines between right and wrong have been blurred, if not totally obliterated by those who don’t or won’t accept responsibility for their behavior or the things they say.
Cruz illustrates in his Senate votes that he is principled and a strict constitutionalist, not to be swayed by the current political climate of going along to get along.
Ted Cruz is to be thanked for having the guts to break his pledge to endorse Trump after his vicious attacks on Cruz’s family.

Ted Cruz is delusional if he thinks his ultimate goal in life of becoming president will one day be a reality.
Those who have had the misfortune of working with him, including those in the Senate, can attest to his inability to work with others.
I deeply regret my decision to vote for him when he ran for the Senate.
I will not make that mistake again when he runs for re-election.
I sincerely hope there will be a Republican who can challenge and defeat him.

I salute Ted Cruz for defending the honor of his family and standing firm on defending his family at all costs to him.
He could not support Donald Trump, who had dishonored his wife and father.
Trump could have apologized for this terrible act, but he did not.
I’m a lifelong Republican and am not a supporter of Ted Cruz.
However, I believe in honor, respect and doing the right thing.
Ted Cruz did the right thing.
Neysa Thompson, Watauga
So, many of the delegates to the Republican National Convention booed Ted Cruz.
Did they not listen to what he said rather than what he didn’t say?
As for endorsements, I believe most average Americans couldn’t care less who endorses a candidate.
Most of us make our political decisions based on our own values and which candidate we believe best represents those values.
God bless Ted Cruz.

Hooray to Ted Cruz for putting the vile-mouth, insulting GOP presidential candidate in his place.
His speech was the best show of the Republican National Convention, as well as the best timing.

Tired of insults
I’m tired of listening to the delegates to the political conventions trash each other.
If their candidates are supposed to run our country, when are they going to tell use how they’re planning to do it?
We have racial disagreements, terrorists killing our police, education problems, Social Security problems, we’re trillions of dollars in debt, etc., etc.
These are problems they should be addressing instead of insulting each other.

Roger Ailes
Maybe I don’t get it. Roger Ailes is accused of sexual harassment and is fired as chairman and CEO of Fox News.
Bill Clinton was (and is) accused of sexual harassment and does not lose his job … even after suffering impeachment (but, sadly, not conviction).
Ailes gets fired and Slick Willie kept his office. What a country … if you’re a Democrat.
