The distraction of texting or using a mobile device while driving has been increasing. As I look out the passenger window, I notice people focusing on phones instead of the road.
I once witnessed an accident because of such behavior.
Many people are in denial about the risk. The victims are not only teenagers; they are people of all ages.
Even with years of experience behind the wheel, one should not ignore the perils of multitasking. Just a few seconds of lost focus is enough to cause an accident.
Better to be safe. A phone is not to be used while driving, especially to text.
The text message — call, game, whatever — can wait.
