We worked hard all our lives before retiring. Like many senior citizens, we don’t have money to spare for higher health insurance premiums and co-pays. That is why we have to ask our members for Congress to avoid taking any more funds from Medicare Advantage.
Billions of dollars were already cut from Medicare Advantage when the healthcare reform passed, and it would be unfair if further cuts were proposed. Many of our friends would be hurt by more cuts to the program. Any budgetary cuts should come from other areas since our health and safety are non-negotiable.
We cannot continue to support ourselves with the growing cost of healthcare. As diabetics who rely on many medications, it’s not hard to imagine how much it costs. We are facing tough choices such as which medications to buy.
Further cuts to Medicare Advantage would negatively affect the health of many seniors. If these types of programs are constantly on the chopping block, it will only add more stress during our most vulnerable years. Urge Congress to protect funding form Medicare Advantage.
