Trump vs. Clinton

If we assume Hillary is the answer to our presidential question, how we know when she’s telling the truth?

We’ve had eight years of a president who has given us a truckload of lies on health insurance, paying ransom, etc.

Hillary seems to be following suit.

Instead of deflecting to “she’s better than the other candidate,” can her supporters tell us why we should believe anything she says?

Donald Trump insists that he has made millions because he’s a very good businessman, helping working people. But he’s filed for bankruptcy four times, stiffing contractors and workers. And he makes no apologies for his actions.

Is he really a “good” businessman? What happens if he’s elected president? Will he be willing to file bankruptcy on behalf of the United States and stiff all of us?

Gayle Bostic, Fort Worth

Hilary’s candidacy is flawed because she is a security risk.

I am going to contact U.S. Rep. Kay Granger (R-Fort Worth) and ask her to introduce a bill that prevents any presidential candidate who does not meet security clearance standards.

Paula Scoggin, Benbrook

In my opinion, Donald Trump is a self-made spoiled rich brat. He couldn’t possibly know what the word diplomacy means.

Hilary Clinton endangered all of America by using a personal unsecured email server to send and receive top-secret information. But she didn’t intend to, so no charges are filed.

Julian Castro violated the Hatch Act by making political comments about the candidates. But he didn’t intend to, so no disciplinary action will be taken.

Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos says Texas voter laws discriminate against certain ethnic groups. But the law is being changed.

So explain to me, when exactly does intent come into play?

The media is suddenly praising Donald Trump because he said he “regrets offending people with how he speaks.”

But in the real world, a regret is not the same as saying “I am sorry.”

It’s easy to regret saying unkind words, but that doesn’t directly mean “I’m sorry.”

The press wants to credit Trump for pivoting, but is he “sorry” he insulted people? Or is regret simply political gamesmanship?

John Zurlo, Arlington

It’s tragic that Ghazala and Khizr Khan’s son lost his life, and that, as a result, the Khans claim a special right to disparage a fellow American.

The Khans and the Democratic National Committee owe America and Donald Trump an apology for their reprehensible behavior.

Harlan Wensel, Fort Worth

Are we finally getting an insight into some of the 30,000 e-mails Hillary dumped?
