Would you like to pay respect to Fort Worth’s last Tuskegee Airman? Here’s his funeral route

Want to pay your last respects to Fort Worth’s last Tuskegee Airman?

Below is a map showing the funeral route for Robert T McDaniel, 96, who died March 19.

Police and officials with Baker Funeral Home say the procession will begin at approximately 1 p.m., although the precise time depends upon when the funeral service (which begins at 11 a.m.) ends.

Watching a funeral procession from a roadside is perfectly legal, as long as participants stand in a safe spot and don’t do anything to interrupt traffic.

Here is McDaniel’s funeral route, according to police:

Beginning at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2823 N. Houston St. (the site of the funeral), the procession will take 28th Street east to Interstate 35W then get on the TEXPress lanes.

The vehicles will continue east on Northeast Loop 820 and Texas 183 TEXPress lanes through Bedford, Euless and Irving.

The group will exit at Loop 12 and go south to Mountain Creek Parkway, which leads to the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
