A man is in custody after he allegedly shot at his ex-wife Thursday and barricaded himself from police.
Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 6400 block of Saddleback Drive about 4:15 p.m. Thursday, according to a Denton Police Department news release. Police learned that a 42-year-old man shot several times at his ex-wife, who was picking up some papers. She was not shot and got away without injury.
The man then went back inside his home and barricaded himself, apparently after firing one more shot, the news release says. The Denton Police Department Tactical Team responded to negotiate with the man and neighbors were evacuated.
Within a few hours, police were able to take the man into custody without any injuries, according to police. Little other information was made immediately available.
