Whataburger customers could be ordering online from the popular Texas-based restaurant by next year, the company announced Tuesday as it launched a mobile app.
The company expects mobile ordering through the app to be available “in late 2017.”
For now, here’s how the app works:
For every five visits, customers will receive their choice of one of these free items: Honey butter chicken biscuit (served 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.), taquito with cheese (served 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.), medium french fries, cinnamon roll or any flavor of a small shake.

Users of the app can earn rewards by scanning a bar code in the app while paying for their food. The app also allows customers to upload up to $220 onto the app and use that money to pay from the app.
The app includes Whataburger’s full menu, nutrition and allergen information and a restaurant locator.
