A drive-by shooting near a little league park in Denton on Tuesday evening injured one person and reportedly forced families and children to take shelter in a concession stand.
Officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Evers Parkway, near Evers Park, about 6 p.m., a police statement said.
The victim, a male, was in the parking lot of Evers Park Elementary school when a white-colored vehicle drove by. He was then shot at multiple times and struck in his lower body, the police statement said.
He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police they heard about three gunshots and saw a suspect drive away in an unknown direction.
Witnesses told the Denton Record-Chronicle they were waiting for a youth baseball game to start at Evers Park when the shooting happened. They took cover in a concession stand at the park, according to the newspaper.
No parents or children were injured in the incident, police said.
