She ordered a date, and Whataburger delivered.

Friendswood High School freshman Gracie Kempken needed a date for the homecoming dance so she tweeted the Corpus Christi-founded burger chain on Oct. 5, asking the restaurant for help.

On Friday, the Houston-area teen was greeted at Friendswood High by Whataguy, the chain’s mascot, who came prepared with an orange-and-white mum and fake fries.

Kimberly Williams Kempken commented Monday on the Friendswood ISD Facebook page that Gracie has not “quit smiling yet and that precious mum is hanging in a place of honor on her wall!”

Earlier this year, the chain hosted a #WhataProm contest with students sharing their Whataburger-themed “promposal.”

The winning submission came from Fernando Lopez Garcia of Roma, Texas. Garcia and 13 of his friends were treated to a limo ride, orange corsages and boutonnieres, a photographer and a linen tablecloth dinner at Whataburger.
