Tarrant County District Attorney Sharen Wilson is seeking another term in office.
Wilson, a former state district judge, became Tarrant County’s first female district attorney in 2015.
“Serving as District Attorney for Tarrant County has been one of the greatest privileges of my life,” the Republican said in a written statement. “In my second term, I promise to continue to serve with integrity, accountability, and a commitment to justice and safety.”
Wilson said that since she took office, the district attorney’s office has worked to boost public awareness, shrink recidivism and improve communication with local law enforcers.

State Sen. Jane Nelson, R-Flower Mound, received a lifetime achievement award from GOPAC, a national group working to build the future of Republican leaders.
“Sen. Nelson has demonstrated true conservative leadership both during her long-standing tenure as chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee as well as in her current roles as the Senate’s highest-ranking Republican and the first woman to serve as the state’s Senate Finance Committee Chairman,” said David Avella, chairman of the group.
“Under her leadership, Texas continues to be a model for the type of conservative government that advances personal and economic security.”
Nelson, whose district includes part of Tarrant County, received the honor during the recent 10th Annual State Legislative Leaders Summit in Austin.
“To be recognized by such a distinguished organization is an incredible honor that I will cherish always,” Nelson said.
