Fort Worth man charged in fatal stabbing in drug-related dispute

A 22-year-old Fort Worth man has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of another man last month.

Miles Joshua Woods is accused of stabbing Alfredo Luna, 19, in the chest in a dispute that police believe have said was drug-related.

The stabbing occurred July 17 near a sidewalk in the 3000 block of Avenue N.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Luna and at least one other man had reportedly been riding around in a green van, trying to sell cocaine.

Luna had gotten out of the van and approached a small group of men when witnesses soon saw him fall to the ground. A man, later identified as Woods, was then spotted fleeing the scene carrying a bloody knife, the affidavit states.

Luna was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital shortly afterward.

Woods was arrested on a murder warrant July 22 and charged with the crime Wednesday. He is free on a $50,000 bond.
