A man was shot Sunday morning when he heard someone knocking on his door at his home on Beaty Street and answered it, police said.

The victim, whom police did not identify, was taken to a local hospital. He was reported in good condition, police said.

Police responded to the shooting shortly before 5 a.m. in the 5500 block of Beaty Steet.

Through the investigation, detectives determined that the victim and his brother had been involved in an altercation with the gunman and other suspects earlier in the night.

Police did not release any details on the altercation or where it took place.

The gunman and other suspects fled the scene after the shooting.

No one had been arrested by Sunday afternoon.
