A 5-year-old boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition Thursday afternoon after he was hit by a car, according to Forest Hill police.
The boy was on a motorized mini scooter or bike about 3:30 p.m. when he apparently ran through a stop sign into the 6300 block of Crawford Lane in front of a vehicle, Capt. Jerry Cozby said.
The driver swerved and braked but couldn’t avoid hitting him.
The boy was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center in critical condition, Cozby said.
Police believe he was unsupervised.
