The hot days of summer will take a short break in North Texas this week.
While temperatures were expected to again reach the mid-90s Monday, a weak cold front will arrive on Tuesday and cool things off by a few degrees.
And forecasters say North Texans might see some rain. There’s a 30 percent chance today and 40 percent Tuesday.
“It’s not likely that we will see severe weather from these showers and thunderstorms,” meteorologist Jamie Gudmestad said Sunday. “Rainfall totals will probably be below a half-inch.”
Gudmestad said the best chance of rain will be Tuesday, when rainfall totals could be a half-inch. Temperatures on Tuesday will be in the lower 90s.
Morning temperatures for the week will range from the low to mid-70s.
After Tuesday, rain chances for Tarrant County will be gone for several days. But Gudmestad noted that there is a slight chance of moisture on Friday and Saturday.
