Person dies in Fort Worth after accidental self shooting, according to police

A person accidentally shot themselves Sunday near Trinity Park in Fort Worth and later died at a hospital, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call about the shooting about 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Museum Way and Matisse Drive, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim with a gunshot wound, who was taken to a hospital for treatment and later died from the injuries, police said.

Investigators determined the shooting was accidentally self-inflicted, police said. Homicide and Gun Violence detectives will further investigate the shooting.

The victim who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
