Women and children can receive no- or low-cost medical care at the Center for Transforming Lives starting Monday, the nonprofit announced.

The center in southeast Fort Worth is debuting two health rooms that will be able to host partner organizations that provide health services including exams, medical screenings, preventive care, health education and more. The nonprofit is currently partnered with Texas Health Resources and Abide Women’s Health Services.

Free child care will be available for parents while they’re receiving medical care, the nonprofit said.

The Center for Transforming Lives recently opened its new campus at 3001 S. Riverside Drive. The nonprofit works to support women and children experiencing poverty and homelessness, and helps more than 3,000 people every year.

Carol Klocek, the center’s CEO, said in a statement that many families the center works with go without needed medical care because they can’t get to their appointments.

“By incorporating mobile health rooms in the design of our new Riverside Campus, we’ve made it easy for families to get the care they need,” Klocek said in a statement. “If they’re already coming to our campus for counseling, for example, they can also schedule a screening or exam while they’re here.”

Abide Women’s Health Services will be at the Riverside campus every Monday, and will offer pregnancy testing, prenatal and postpartum care, and maternal resources. Texas Health Resources will be on campus twice a month and will offer adult wellness exams and mammograms.
