Developers propose hundreds of apartments by Benbrook Lake in Fort Worth
A Southlake developer hopes to stake its claim in southwest Fort Worth’s booming residential market.
Integrated Real Estate Group is seeking Fort Worth’s blessing to rezone a 12.6-acre property near the intersection of Bryant Irvin and Altamesa Boulevard for high-density residential use. The change would allow the company to move forward with plans to construct a 368-unit apartment complex on the site.
The now empty site is about a mile-and-a-half east of Benbrook Lake’s eastern shoreline and a mile west of Chisholm Trail Parkway. Much of the land wedged between the lake and the prospective apartment complex is undeveloped. Homes, apartments and a few stores cover much of the landscape to the north, east and south.
Integrated Real Estate Group manages more than two dozen multifamily developments and senior living facilities across the state. Its two completed Fort Worth apartment complexes are both located in far north Fort Worth.
Company representatives will pitch their latest project to Fort Worth zoning commissioners on May 14. Should the commission elect to move the proposal forward, city council members will decide the case’s future on June 10.
