A Fort Worth man was killed early Tuesday when his pickup truck struck a tractor-trailer on Interstate 35, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the I-35 West southbound lanes around 2:45 a.m. regarding a previous two-vehicle accident, officials said.

A tractor-trailer stopped before the accident scene on the freeway. A pickup truck coming up behind the semi failed to control speed and crashed into the trailer, according to police.

The pickup’s driver died at the scene, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 59-year-old Agustin Estrada.

The Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating the accident, police said.
