The Cookery offers perfect date night with cooking class, dinner party rolled into one

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make pasta? How about sushi or Thai food?

The Cookery offers everyone the chance to learn how to cook in a group setting, and a location is going to open soon in Fort Worth, at 710 S. Main St. Suite 130, in the Near Southside district. A night at The Cookery is like a cooking class meets a dinner party, where guests cook a three-course meal and afterward, everyone sits down family style to eat what has been made.

There are different series of classes: from seasonal to ethnic foods, classes offer a wide variety of tastes. Most of the public classes run from Thursday to Sunday, and during the week The Cookery offers private company events.

Owner Kelly Huddleston first started her business in Dallas three years ago. Since then, the business has grown that opening a location in Fort Worth was the next exciting step.

“I’m just super excited, and can’t wait until we open,” Huddleston said.

If everything goes right, The Cookery will have a soft opening by the end of May with a grand opening by June 1. The first few classes offered will likely be from among the company’s classic series, like pasta making or sushi. Once June rolls around, Huddleston anticipates that Fort Worth can start its seasonal series, farm-to-table.

If you want to experience a class at The Cookery, you have to pre-register online, and spaces are limited for each event. The cost is also $95 per person.
