Deceased body found along a walking trail at Heritage Park in Fort Worth
Fort Worth police and firefighters are investigating what happened to a man found floating in the Trinity River this afternoon.
Firefighters said they were alerted about 1 p.m. Wednesday that a body was seen in the Trinity near the 400 block of North Taylor Street just north of downtown.
The man, between 40 and 50 years old, was found floating near the river bank near the Tarrant County College downtown campus, according to police. The man was wearing a hospital bracelet and pants and was believed to be homeless, police said.
Detectives have not reported any signs of trauma or foul play. The man was removed from the river by Fort Worth firefighters, and homicide and missing-person detectives were on the scene, according to police.
The investigation is being conducted as a possible drowning, according to authorities.
