Storms that produced large hail moving out of Tarrant County area

The threat for severe thunderstorms has ended for Tarrant County as the cold front that triggered the storms drifts off to the southeast.

“We could still see showers over the next few hours, but we aren’t expecting to see anything severe for Tarrant County,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Bianca Villanueva.

Johnson County saw numerous reports of large hail as the storm moved across the area. There were also severe thunderstorms north of the Metroplex.

As the front heads southeast, it is expected to stall, which could lead to heavy rains and severe weather overnight.

A flash flood watch is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday across parts of North and Central Texas including Hill, Somervell and Navarro counties, where 2 to 4 inches could fall.
