A police officer was injured after being struck while he was outside his patrol car early Wednesday in Fort Worth.
The officer was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released shortly after the accident, police said. Police did not release the name of the officer.
The incident took place at about 4:40 a.m., while officers were at the scene of another accident in the 4400 block of Interstate 35W near Seminary Drive. The officer was putting down flares when he was hit by a vehicle, which then hit the patrol car, police said.
Traffic investigators determined that the motorist who hit the officer was not impaired, and no one was arrested, police said.
Police believe the crash was an accident.
