A former manager at Bennett’s Grocery & Deli is accused of stealing bundles of scratch-off tickets from work, then redeeming more than $4,000 in winnings.

Traci Rennee Moore, 46, of Burleson was arrested Tuesday on charges of claiming a lottery prize through fraud ($200 to $10,000), a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and $4,000 fine.

According to Burleson spokeswoman DeAnna Phillips, Moore had been working as a manager at Bennett’s Grocery & Deli, 1465 E. Renfro St., when she allegedly stole eight bundles of scratch-off tickets.

Phillips said about a half-dozen types of tickets were stolen, including Millionaire's Club, The Big Money Super Ticket and Super Weekly Grand.

Moore then allegedly redeemed more than $4,000 in winning tickets at different locations, including Burleson and Fort Worth, Phillips said.

The owner of Bennett’s reported the suspected theft July 26 to Burleson police. An investigation was started, and Moore was arrested on Tuesday, Phillips said.

Owner Tommy Bennett declined to comment Wednesday.

Moore remained in the Mansfield Jail on Wednesday with bail set at $10,000. She was also being held on a $675 fine in connection with an unrelated theft case from Crowley, jail records show.
