Teen steals bike, races into traffic, knocked unconscious in Fort Worth

A teenager was knocked unconscious when he rode a bike he had stolen into traffic and was struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in far north Fort Worth.

The 15-year-old was being pursued by the kids he stole the bike from, according to police, and knowingly rode into traffic and was hit by a car and knocked unconscious at the intersection of North Tarrant Parkway and Ray White Road, said Fort Worth police spokeswoman Tamara Valle.

The boy was transported to a hospital by helicopter, but did not have apparent life-threatening injuries, Valle said.
