Police are trying to identify a man who sexually assaulted a woman after breaking into her south Fort Worth apartment early Monday, then forced her to withdraw money from an ATM machine before dropping him off.
The incident occurred at an apartment complex near Hulen Bend Boulevard.
Police were alerted by a third party shortly after 4 a.m., who told dispatchers that her daughter’s 19-year-old friend had been sexually assaulted by a man who broke into her apartment.
Daniel Segura, a Fort Worth police spokesman, said the unknown man entered the apartment through an unlocked door. He then sexually assaulted the woman and stole items from the apartment before forcing the woman to drive to an ATM and withdraw money, Segura said.
The man then had the woman drop him off at a shopping center parking lot, the call details stated.
The man claimed to have a gun and threatened the teen’s family if she called police, the call details stated.
Segura said investigators are checking with area business for possible surveillance video of the suspect.
The suspect was described in the 911 call as a black or Hispanic male, approximately 25 years of age, and with a strong accent. He was wearing a black hoodie with a California flag logo, dark-colored sweatpants and was carrying a purple backpack.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the sexual assault unit at 817-392-4350.
