A man was fatally stabbed Tuesday night in a Fort Worth apartment complex parking lot, police said Wednesday.
Officers arrived about 11 p.m. at the Villages at Samaritan House in the 1000 block of Hemphill Street at about the same time a shooting call came in from the same location, police said.
Officers determined that the man, who has not been identified, had been stabbed rather than shot, Fort Worth police spokesman Robin Krouse said. Police performed first aid on the man, who was accompanied by a woman, until medical personnel arrived and took over, police said.
He was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he died from his wounds, Krouse said.
The Fort Worth Police Department has a suspect who was visiting and interacting with residents at the location, but has not been able to find the suspect, said Norbert White, Samaritan House president and CEO.
Villages at Samaritan House provides housing to people with major health issues such as HIV/AIDS, and those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Homicide detectives are investigating, police said.
