One man was shot Thursday night in a parking lot outside a Dunbar High School JV football game, authorities reported.

Additional officers had been assigned to the area after police heard there might be an altercation during the game at the school, which is at 5700 Ramey Ave., police spokeswoman Tamara Valle said.

About 7:30 p.m., an estimated 12 to 15 shots were heard from the parking lot. One man was shot, and he was taken by MedStar ambulance to a hospital, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Valle said.

The shots were fired during the third quarter of the game between Dunbar and Eastern Hills High School. The game was canceled, and the Eastern Hills students were loaded on buses and driven away, a school spokesman told WFAA.
