A teen was fatally shot early Sunday in the driveway of his home in south Fort Worth, police said.

Officials at the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Demarian Jones, 17. An official ruling on his death is pending, but police said they believe Jones was shot to death.

A resident heard five gunshots in the 3400 block of Stonewall Lane, and police received a report of a shooting call shortly after 2 a.m. The neighborhood is south of Interstate 20.

When they arrived, patrol officers found Jones in the driveway with an apparent gunshot wound, according to preliminary police reports.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting. No one has been arrested.
