How about a plate of tacos with a side order of fat lip and a nice, cool can of beatdown?

That’s exactly what some diners at Taqueria El Paisano Mexican Restaurant in northwest Dallas got over the weekend. According to Eater.com, a brawl broke out at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday that ended up in punches being landed, hair being pulled, chairs being thrown, and a five-minute video that’s gone viral, logging more than 1.7 million views.

Isael Rojas, the guy who posted the initial video of the fight, told Eater the disagreement was over chips and salsa, but he has since told other media outlets he was just joking about that and doesn’t know what started the fight.

Several other witnesses, including one that shared her video with the Star-Telegram but wished not be identified, said the trouble started when two female customers at different tables began “mugging each other with bad stares.” She said as things escalated the guys who were with the girls tried to hold them back, but one got loose, and that’s when the mayhem started.

“Everyone was so scared,” she said of the families who were eating at the restaurant.

And as the fight spilled outside, the glass doors to the restaurant’s main entrance were cracked, and blood and broken beer bottles were left strewn on the floor inside. Many of the frightened customers left without paying for their food, she said, adding to the drama and aggravation for the restaurant manager.

Police arrived, but no arrests were made.
