Police nabbed four out-of-town robbery suspects who made a wrong turn — into FBI headquarters, according to an item in The Dallas Morning News crime blog.

Police suspect that the bandits, three men and a woman from Houston, were behind a series of robberies in which people were ambushed and robbed after making bank withdrawals, the blog item says.

The scheme went awry on Tuesday when the suspects beat and robbed an employee of Gene’s Liquor Store and check cashing on West Northwest Highway who had just withdrawn $20,000, according to a police report.

An undercover detective witnessed the robbery and tried to cut off the fleeing robbers but they managed to escape. Other squad cars were summoned to join the pursuit. The chase ended when the suspects hit a dead-end at One Justice Way, the Dallas headquarters of the FBI, the blog says.

Arrested were Ray Hicks, 21, Fernando Taylor, 28, Brandon Mallet, 29, and Chrisheena Milburn, 25. All but Hicks have been released on bond, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said. Read the full item here.
