A person was killed in a traffic wreck early Wednesday while chasing suspects who had earlier shot and killed a family member at a home in south Dallas, according to news reports.

The names of the victims had not been released by authorities.

Police had responded to a shooting call at a home in the 4200 block of Copeland Street where they found one person dead.

The motorist was pronounced dead at the scene.
